TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
The TESOL program is designed for those seeking qualifications for a career in teaching English to speakers of other languages. Career options might include working as a teacher, curriculum designer, language tester, education administrator or taking up associated responsibilities. Students are offered the opportunity to learn more about applications of linguistic theory to other areas, such as cognitive science, neurolinguistics, psycholinguistics and the social and institutional contexts of language learning and use.

Staff Specialisations
Staff specialisations and research include TESOL, teaching English as a global language, teaching language for professional and academic purposes, bilingualism, intercultural pragmatics, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, language planning, descriptive and theoretical grammar and language typology, corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, business and language, and language and humour.
